 | James DowningJames Downing, BC-HIS, is nationally board-certified in hearing instrument sciences. Jim's dad, Sandy, started locally in the hearing healthcare field in 1972, founding Hearing Plus, Inc. in 1987. Upon Sandy's retirement in November 2001, Jim became president and sole owner. He updated the name to Advanced Hearing Plus, Inc. in 2002 to better reflect the advanced technology of digital hearing products, product line, and expertise we offer in the area of hearing aids and assisted listening devices. | |
Jim Downing's sense of humor and genuine concern for people make an appointment with him a visit to look forward to. Jim's passion is helping people from young adults to seniors live their lives to the fullest by maximizing their hearing capabilities. Jim realized he had this gift when he trained under his father, Sandy---and became passionate about helping people hear better. |
Hearing problems have always been a part of Jim's life. His grandfather suffered from severe hearing loss, as does his father and his younger daughter. He is very aware of how a hearing impairment affects a person's life and the frustration family members experience when they try to communicate. Our patients find Jim to be warm, kind, and very competent. They can attest to Jim's compassionate and unselfish care over the years. |

Beth Bell, who also grew up here locally, is Jim's Office Manager. She's been with the company since 1999. Beth strives to stay informed regarding the latest hearing healthcare issues and products, and can often answer many of your questions.
If you need to have your hearing instruments cleaned or your battery doors replaced, Beth is happy to do that for you---no appointment needed. She also writes the monthly newsletter on our web site and appreciates your feedback. | |
